The Workers of England Union is proud to announce a landmark victory: our member has been awarded £25,000 in compensation after suffering anti-English discrimination at work. This case, heard at the Middlesbrough Employment Tribunal, reaffirms our commitment to fighting unfair treatment and protecting the rights of every English worker.


Case Overview

The union represented a member whose contract was abruptly terminated despite his excellent standard of work. The claim focused on illegal discrimination under the Equalities Act 2010, specifically:

  • Anti-English “National Origin/National Identity” discrimination
  • System of Philosophical Belief” discrimination, due to his active campaigning for a fair deal for England

Legal Basis

The tribunal found that terminating the contract on the grounds of national identity and philosophical belief was unlawful. This ruling sets an important precedent for employees facing similar anti-English discrimination in the workplace.
