NHS England: Mandatory Injections

NHS England Mandatory Injections

| W.E.U Admin | Workplace Wellbeing

There is currently no legislation mandating NHS staff to take part in clinical trials as a condition of employment.

Disclosure of Vaccination Status

There is no obligation to reveal your vaccination status to your line managers. Do not discuss this with anyone in your workplace.

For more information on related policies, see our NHS England Mandatory Injections guidance.

Handling Requests for Personal Medical Information

Be aware that there is no such thing as an informal meeting when an employer seeks personal medical information. Such information may be used against you in future proceedings, and you have no obligation to disclose it.

All requests to discuss vaccination status must be submitted in writing, and NHS staff should have a trade union representative accompany them. For detailed advice, refer to our injection policy overview.

Responding to Inquiries

If someone approaches you about your vaccination status, ask them to put their questions in writing. You can then seek our advice before responding.

Next Steps and Support

Please get in touch with us if your employer requests a meeting. We will guide you through the process and ensure your rights are protected.
