Can a union representative visit my workplace under the 2026 law?
Yes. A new statutory right of access takes effect in October 2026. Independent trade unions can request to enter workplaces for recruitment, organising, and representing members. Access is now the "default" legal outcome unless the employer has a valid, narrow reason to refuse.
Independent Trade Unions such as The Workers of England Union use representatives who are not paid a salary by the employer. Which means they are only there to represent the member's interest.
