Is the SSP lower earnings limit still in place?
No. The 2026 reforms removed the Lower Earnings Limit (LEL) for Statutory Sick Pay. Previously, those earning less than £123 per week were ineligible for SSP; now, all workers are entitled to sick pay regardless of their weekly earnings level.
Regardless of the amount you earn per week, you are still entitled to SSP. This specifically helps part-time and low paid workers.
