Apprenticeships and Students
“If you are an English Student then you are paying tuition fees. The Workers of England union is campaigning to stop the unjust and unofficial English student tax.”
Join the Workers of England Union
If you are not already a member of the Workers of England union then, putting it simply, we want you to join. First and foremost, your future prosperity matters to us. By being a member, having our support and by working together, we can win!
Support for Young Workers
For most young people starting out on an apprenticeship or at university, it’s an exciting time and many are full of anticipation about the future. However, in this present economic situation, many young workers are experiencing a very different reality: low pay, poor training opportunities and, for university students, increasing hardship as part-time work simply is not available.
Changing the Future Together
The Workers of England union actively wants young members and students to be involved in reshaping the future of England. We recognise that it is the union’s responsibility to help employers see the value in harnessing the skills and knowledge that apprentices and students bring.
We are not just asking the government for help; we are demanding that it willingly offers support. We need to look forward and protect the future—a future that does not come at the cost of English jobs.
Our Key Campaign Demands
- Welsh students pay part of the tuition fees
- Equality for all student fees
- Education is not for sale – stop privatisation
- Free student travel
- Improvement of library resources
- Better teaching standards
